IUCEE program for developing soft skills of your engineering students

IUCEE has initiated a program to assist in your effort to enhance soft skills of your students. This is of vital importance to your accreditation and ranking as well as the quality of your graduates.

The “IUCEE Soft Skills Course” was offered for FREE to 20 students each of IUCEE Consortium institutions, from August to September 2020, by Dr. Manu Vora, Chairman & President, Business Excellence, Inc., USA; IIT Chicago, M.S. CHE 1970, Ph.D. 1975, IIT Alumni Medalist, 2012. The course consisted of a series of live webinars, live chat discussions, graded assignments and discussions. Topics covered were: Leadership Excellence, Effective Decision Making, Time Management, Team Work, Project Management and Career Development Guidance.

We have recently celebrated the completion of this Course on Sunday October 25. I am pleased to inform you that 713 students from 35 IUCEE institutions participated.  350 of these students passed the course, out of which 189 passed with distinction.

One faculty mentor was designated by your institution to guide as well as to grade the work of the students. The feedback from the several faculty in the program was overwhelming enthusiastic. They have requested that IUCEE offer a Faculty Development Program on Teaching Soft Skills, which will help your institutional strategic initiatives for Soft Skills Development. They have suggested that such a workshop be taken by faculty from all disciplines so that they can embed soft skills development in the process of teaching their disciplinary courses.

Dr. Manu Vora as agreed to conduct such a workshop, with the help of Dr. Deepak Waikar.
