I am Dr. Mrs. Sushma S. Kulkarni, Director of Rajarambapu Institute of Technology (RIT), Sangli, Maharashtra. I would like to thank Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE), for giving us exposure to bring transformation to our engineering institute.
I am glad to share with you that, recently Rajarambapu Institute of Technology has got the funding of Rs. 1.048 CR for developing Idea lab setup in the campus, through the AICTE-IDEA LAB scheme.
I myself as a Director got exposure to the concept of IDEA LAB during one of the Annual Leadership Summit organized by IUCEE in Goa. I had met Dr. Ashok Shetter and Dr. Gopal Joshi, during the summit. They talked about the engineering exploration lab, which they had set up in their University during their presentation. It was very interesting to know that they had introduced this course from the first year of Engineering, and emphasized that the students want to “DO” hands-on engineering to develop prototypes from the first year onwards.
IUCEE through its various annual international conferences and webinars has introduced us to a lot of other concepts like problem identification, brainstorming, developing prototypes, multidisciplinary projects, community connect, etc. Transformation can be done on the campus if we practice different pedagogical tools during the delivery of the curricular contents in the classroom, laboratory, and for the projects wherein we can develop metacognition and self-efficacy in the students.
IUCEE has helped to develop a culture and ecosystem of innovation and creativity in our RIT Campus.
