On becoming a consortium member in 2017, K J Somaiya College of Engineering Mumbai (KJSCE) got associated with IUCEE and the bond is strengthening day by day.

During the last couple of years, many faculty members of KJSCE have been regularly participating in the ICTIEE conferences and here is where they had occasions to interact with global experts as well as with faculty members from peer institutes. In addition to other benefits, these conferences have also helped in opening up their research interests in the field of “Education Technology”. Completion of IUCEE certification programme; IIEECP and participation in workshops conducted by Dr Clair has helped many of them learn a lot about ‘how to teach’ and it also was an inspiration for the others.

It was a very happy moment for the college when two of our colleagues got associated with JEET as associate editors and some others as reviewers. Our college was also fortunate to present a series of 4 webinars; wherein the journey of our college from an affiliated institution of University of Mumbai to an autonomous institution with a focus on quality, could be portrayed.

Faculty members are also associated with many of the IUCEE initiated clusters; such as Teaching Learning, OBE, Virtual lab, etc. These regular interactions with IUCEE institutional mentors keep us updated about the worldwide scenario in Engineering Education.

I myself have attended the leadership summit in 2019 and ICTIEE 2020 and so I can certainly say that participation in any of the activities of IUCEE adds to the motivation and inspiration to everyone.

Now while KJSCE has become a constituent college of the newly founded ‘Somaiya Vidyavihar University’, the transformation and global visibility through our association with IUCEE will be very important for us.

Thanks to IUCEE!!
