IUCEE Consortium of Institutions was launched in 2010 to address the need for making IUCEE financially sustainable. Mr. Narayana Murthy, Chairman of Infosys, one of the main donors during the first two years of IUCEE, bluntly advised IUCEE to stop assisting colleges unless they are willing to pay.

IUCEE believes in assisting any engineering institution, which is interested in improving the quality of the engineering education it offers. However, since institutions collect fees from students, it is reasonable to expect that the institutions pay for obtaining this assistance. Annual fees for institutional membership in the IUCEE Consortium is $1,000 payable to IUCEE headquartered at University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA. These fees enable IUCEE to maintain a small staff in India and in the US as well as cover some basic expenses.

Benefits of membership in IUCEE Consortium

The primary objective of inviting institutions to become members of the IUCEE Consortium is to assist them in improving the quality of their engineering graduates. IUCEE works with the institutional leadership and faculty to understand the strategic plan of the institution and facilitate the transformation of the process of engineering education at the institution. For this purpose, IUCEE provides access to the ecosystem nurtured over the past ten years. Annual membership fees are essential for the sustainability of IUCEE and its ability to maintain this ecosystem.

Some of the elements of the ecosystem include:

  • Contacts with over 200 Global (predominantly US) Experts and their Institutions

  • Advise on preparation for Outcomes Based Education (OBE)

  • Advise from Global (predominantly US) Experts in hosting International Conferences or Seminars
