Engineering Education Researcher Certification
September 20, 2020
IUCEE is excited to offer engineering education researcher certification, a comprehensive year-long program that builds on the pilot engineering education research course offered in 2019-2020. Researchers with prior experience in the scholarship of teaching and learning, or more broadly, engineering education research, are invited to participate in this program. The mentors, Dr. Prathiba Nagabhushan and Dr. Sohum Sohoni will hold two webinars with the participants each month for 12 months. More than 50% of the webinars will include guest speakers who are internationally recognized in the area of engineering education research. The speakers will discuss their own approach related to the topic of discussion, and will engage with the audience through discussion facilitated by the mentors. The program will be carried out entirely online. Canvas will be used for communication, collaboration and coordination.
- Guide and certify faculty in the area of research in engineering education. These faculty can serve as mentors to others in their institutions, and also work on undertaking studies that investigate effectiveness of institutional policies and initiatives on improving the educational processes.
- Provide well-rounded international exposure and focus on inter-institution collaboration. Research cannot be done in isolation. The certification program is designed to make several connections that will result in long-term collaboration (both international and within India).
Expected Deliverable: Each participant will submit a paper to a SCOPUS-indexed journal at the end of the program. It is expected that papers will have more than one co-author, with a maximum of 5 co-authors.
