Traditional approaches and processes for innovation and change management need to be questioned in this era of the pandemic. There is an urgent need to generate effective solutions rapidly and at lower costs. In other words, there is an urgent need for agility and for out of the box solutions to solve problems organizations are facing today. In this session we describe the agile mindset and contrast with the traditional mindset when it comes to solving a problem. You will see case scenarios of how an organization willing to embrace an agile mindset can deliver results in “half the time” and at “half the cost”.

Dr. Vijay Kanabar is the Director of Project Management programs and Associate Professor at Boston University, where he has just completed 25 years of service.   He has served on President Brown’s Council on Digital Learning and Innovation at Boston University.   Author of several books in the domains of Computing and Project Management, he is Agile CSM Certified, and has maintained his Project Management Institute’s (PMI) PMP credential for more than two decades. Dr. Kanabar was awarded PMI’s Linn Stuckenbruck Teaching Excellence Award in 2017–this global award recognizes and honors an individual faculty member for excellence in teaching and curriculum development and contribution to the discipline of project management. Dr. Kanabar is an active consultant for several Fortune 100 firms and can be reached at kanabar@bu.edu.
