History and Vision

The Journal for Engineering Education Transformations (JEET) was initiated in 1986 by Dr. N. V. Ratnalikar (with the title Journal of Engineering Education). In 2007, the journal became the joint responsibility of IUCEE and one of its Consortium Colleges, Rajarambapu Institute of Technology (RIT).

Journal of Engineering Education Transformations (JEET) is a scholarly journal committed to the advancement of theory, research and practice in the field of engineering education. Published in India, the world’s largest hub of engineering education, JEET is international in its scope inviting scholars and experts from across the globe to share their theoretical insights and innovative practices for the enhancement and transformation of engineering education.

JEET is a peer-reviewed journal made available in both print and online versions. A double-blind peer-review process performed by experts in the field will ensure the highest standard in scholarship. It is ranked in the top 20 in Google Scholar’s Metrics in Engineering Education, with an h5-index of 6 and h5-median of 7 as of May 2020. It is on the UGC-CARE list and SCOPUS indexed. In 2019, JEET received 339 submissions for review.

IUCEE’s connection with JEET Journal

JEET is a key component of the broad engineering education ecosystem that IUCEE serves to improve. IUCEE and JEET have a relationship of positive interdependence. JEET serves as the main vehicle for dissemination for faculty in India who engage in the scholarship of teaching and learning and in engineering education research. Several faculty who have been active in various IUCEE initiatives have documented their work and presented it at IUCEE’s annual conference. JEET publishes a special issue of these conference proceedings. Researchers can also submit their work directly for peer-review for publication in JEET. IUCEE provides international expertise and a global perspective to JEET. Several renowned researchers from the US, Australia, South Africa and several other countries serve on JEET’s editorial and advisory boards. Thus, it serves to contextualize cutting-edge research and applications of this research to the Indian context, while also providing the world a window into what is happening in the area of engineering education research in India.
